On July 18, 2025, i had gotten very ill, and had to be taken to the emergency room. I was told my appendix had an abscess, and infection had gotten into my body. After a week in the hospital , I was sent home with midline IV, antibiotics, a drain, and Home Health Care. consisting of a nurse, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist. I still had my appendix, but the infection had to be cleared, and I was to be stable before they did the appendectomy. I couldn’t do much of anything. I was very weak, and moved very slowly. I told my physical therapist I didn’t even know what I’m supposed to be doing. She told me to paint. So I got out the paints, picked up a paintbrush with all the strength and energy I had. Inspired by text messages I received and the emojis that were sent, telling me to be positive and think good things. This is the painting. This is a very special piece that has a lot of meaning within.
